The suspected armed robbers shot and killed the National Democratic Congress branch Chairman for Dunkwa-Kadadwen Nkansah Daaho "B" in the Upper Denkyira East constituency in the Central region.
His brains were extracted after he was shot through the head and killed.
Data accumulated by Onua News uncovered the deceased, Emmanuel Acquah, 36, was on the night of Thursday, May 4, 2023, getting back from a gold mining site when he was gone after and shot dead.
The armed robbers took the gold as well as the money that was on it.
As per sources, the departed was driving two Chinese gold sellers in a vehicle with enlistment number GW-4794-Y on the Tweapiase - Obuasi street in the Akrofuom locale in the Ashanti district.
Report says after arriving at a segment of Tweapiase, a gathering numbering around five who were thought to be equipped looters crossed them and shot discharges on the driver who was the Public Majority rule Congress Branch Executive in the Upper Denkyira East body electorate.
The vehicle's Chinese occupants quickly unlocked the door and fled into the nearby forest.
Acquah, the deceased's father, claimed that he received distress calls while at home informing him that his son had been shot and attacked, but that he was still receiving treatment at the Obuasi Government Hospital.
He claimed that he rushed to the hospital as soon as he discovered his son's dead body and has since requested that the police increase the area's security.
Swanzy John Arhin, chairman of the NDC in the Upper Denkyira East constituency, also called on the police to intensify their investigation and bring the culprits to justice, noting that this was not the first incident of its kind.
He reassured the family that the party would stand by them.
In the meantime, the body of the departed has been saved at the Obuasi-Mangoase Government Medical clinic Morgue for safeguarding and post-mortem
He abandoned a spouse and three Youngsters.
