Social media users have been sharing video of a guy purportedly making a racist gesture toward Son at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium's away end.

A fan who is accused of using racial slurs against Tottenham striker Son Heung-min on Saturday has been offered a club ban by Crystal Palace.

Social media users have been sharing video of a guy purportedly making a racist gesture toward Son at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium's away end.

The incident happened in the 89th minute of Tottenham's 1-0 victory when South Korea captain Son was replaced by substitute Arnaut Danjuma, who had to walk past the Palace traveling fans and around the edge of the pitch.

We are aware of a video that is going around online (as well as reports made directly to us) about a person in the away end at Spurs yesterday who appeared to make racist gestures toward Heung-min Son.

When he is identified, he will be subject to a club ban because evidence has been given to the police. Such conduct is not acceptable in our club.

We are aware of a claim of racial abuse directed at Heung-min Son during yesterday's game, according to a Tottenham statement.

"Discrimination of any kind is reprehensible and has no place in our game, in society, or at our club.

"We are collaborating with the Met Police and Crystal Palace to look into the incident and find the offender.

"We will exert every effort to ensure that, if found guilty, the person will face the harshest punishment possible, as was the case earlier this year when Son received similar racial abuse at Chelsea," the statement continued.

"Why oh, who, oh why, do adults in this day and age think that this is an acceptable way to behave toward another human being? ", the Tottenham supporters' club Spurs REACH, which stands for Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage, stated on Twitter.

"We sincerely hope that Crystal Palace Football Club find this person and permanently ban them!"
