Newcastle United fans believed their side were 'stitched' by a VAR protest to reverse a penalty - and then felt doubly wrong when Martin Odegaard put Arsenal ahead.

But, when Odegaard scored a few minutes later to put Arsenal ahead, Newcastle fans expressed their anger on social media.

One Newcastle fan said: “Under VAR, if the roles were reversed it would have been introduced.
Another said:
"Will never be reversed against us."
While the third added:
"How can there be no penalty?"

To be fair, some Toon supporters admit they thought the right call was made, but Odegaard's attack simply rubbed salt into Eddie Howe's wound.
On Sky Sports comment, Gary Neville said:
"Well, that's the best way to silence the crowd. These Arsenal players need that, they had a very difficult start to the game. But Odegaard's class!
"It's a great moment in this game and a great moment in this title race."
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were both denied by Nick Pope shortly after Odegaard's goal as Arsenal searched for a quick second.
