The Second Sermon hitmaker, Black Sheriff wins the overall ultimate, Artiste Of The Year at the just ended 24th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Award(VGMA). He beat Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle and Camidoh to win the biggest award of the night.
Black Sheriff after wining the award gave an emotional speech: ”this is crazy because four years ago I was in my final year at Kumasi Academy and four years after see me here, artiste of the year, this is for my family, my fans, Konongo Zongo, I love you guys so much, blessings!!".
In the year under review he (Black Sheriff) had hit songs, Kweku The Traveler and Soja. He wrapped it up with a lifetime album, The Villian I Never Was. He really worked so hard and also gained a nomination at the BET Awards and also being engaged in more international programs.
The young Ghanaian Artiste also bagged four other awards with his famous song, Kweku The Traveler. These awards include; Popular song of the year, hiphop song of the year, collaboration of the year and best video of the year with his other hit song, Konongo Zongo off his debut album.
His hard work earned him a lot of features with top artiste like Darkoo, Sarkodie, Stormzy and even recognized by DJ Khaled. He’s been loved by many because of the hard work he put in his craft. An exceptional talent indeed he is
After his award he announced officially that he’d release a new song come 22nd June. As we anticipate his return we join him celebrate his first of many Artiste Of The Year Award
