Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mané
TEAMtalk already knows that Bayern Munich have planned their lives without Sadio Mane, and that the Liverpool legend can fulfill Mauricio Pochettino's dream at Chelsea.
People raised eyebrows when Liverpool approved the sale of Sadio Mane for just £27.4m last summer. Many believed Bayern had made a breakthrough, although nine months later suggested that Liverpool may have sold at the right time.
Indeed, Mane has only scored 12 goals in 36 appearances for the German giants. He has not started regularly under Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel, while a recent off-field incident has tarnished his reputation. Mane beat teammate Leroy Sane after Bayern's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Man City in the Champions League.
Sane suffered a bleeding lip and Mane was later suspended for Bayern's Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim and fined around 500,000 euros.
Sky Germany later announced that Bayern were preparing to sell one of their most prominent wingers this summer. Serge Gnabry and Mane are two players on the payroll.
However, according to our transfer insider Graeme Bailey, Mane will be the one to pave the way. Bailey told us that Mane is looking to leave Bayern anyway after a largely unsuccessful season in Germany. Sane's defeat only encouraged Bayern to make money and coach Tuchel saw no future for Mane in his plans.
Sadio Mané is in motion; Chelsea binding
"The sources I spoke to at Bayern believe that Mane looks set to leave even before Sane's situation," Bailey said.
“Thomas Tuchel has plans for the club and we don't think Mane is one of them.
“Mane’s next move will be interesting:
Will he come back to England? At the moment, I'm told there aren't too many options, but his availability is a very new situation and he could very well become an option for someone.
Although it is far from clear, one club that has been linked with bringing Mane back to England is Chelsea.
The Blues have been too wasteful in front of goal this season. Despite a lackluster season in Bavaria, Mane has proven himself in the Premier League.
A recent report from Football Insider claims that the favorite to be Chelsea's next boss - Mauricio Pochettino - is keen to sign Mane.
The FI said Pochettino had checked Mane's name in his own discussions with the Chelsea hierarchy and that an offer of around £30m would be enough to secure a deal. Given that Bayern appear to have determined that Mane is the winger they will banish, the chances of him starting at Stamford Bridge next season have increased.
