The English giants suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Hammers(West Ham United) on Sunday thanks to a lone goal from Saïd Benrhama on the 27th minute. The Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag lined up a strong team to face the Hammers but unfortunately they lost to the host.
This however has made their season dream of playing in the Champions League sloppy. Their bitter rivals, Liverpool are just a point behind them and this could shatter their spot in the champions league. With just four(4) games to go, Manchester United need nine(9) points to be assured of a spot in the champions league in the upcoming season.
Currently, the Red Devils are fourth on the league with 63 points. They face competition from Liverpool(62), Tottenham(57)and Brighton(55) whose point gap are closer to theirs. Their recent form has put threats on their position in the premier league.
However, they’ve had an excellent season to their rebuild by wining the Carabao cup and also in the FA cup final. They wish to finish in the top four to sum their season. Their new boss, Erik Ten Hag won them their first ever trophy in seven(7) years.
The fans on the other hand, would love to see their team play in the champions league in the upcoming season. With this, the players and the management have to put in extra work to gain this achievement. They however would like to bring in more signing in the upcoming season. In order to attract quality talent, it is believed they must secure a champions league spot in the upcoming season.
It is always the dream of every top team to play in the Champions League every season. They’re top targets like Harry Kane, Victor Osihmen, Frenkie De Jong would all get the boost to play for them if they play in the champions league in the upcoming season.
