Joao Pedro has signed a deal with Brighton that expires in June 2028.
Brighton is happy to announce that it has reached an agreement to buy Watford forward Joao Pedro for an undisclosed sum.
When the summer transfer window opens, the 21-year-old Brazilian will formally sign a deal with the team that goes through June 2028.
"Joao has been a long-term target of ours, and he has also attracted a lot of interest from across Europe," technical director David Weir said.
So, ahead of the summer transfer window opening, we are happy to have reached an agreement with an important target for the club. It is also excellent for Joao to be able to concentrate on the new season knowing that his immediate future is secure.
He is a fantastic young prospect who is swift, technically excellent, and goal-oriented. He will be a great addition to our current forward line. With more than 100 games played for Watford and solid experience in both the Premier League and Championship, he has also adjusted well here.

With Fluminense, Joao progressed through the juvenile divisions in his native country before making his senior debut in March 2019. In 29 appearances for the Brazilian Serie A team, he would end the year with seven goals.

He made his Hornets debut against Southampton in June 2020 as part of Project Restart, and in his three and a half years with the team, he has made 80 starts and scored 24 goals.
Joao would make his breakthrough in English football the following season in the Championship, scoring nine goals as Watford finished second to immediately return to the top flight.
This season has been his most successful in front of goal, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists.
