Fernando Torres has sent a warning to Sadio Mane about a move to Chelsea.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are considering submitting an offer for Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane.

The 31-year-old only left Anfield last summer, having scored 120 goals and 38 assists in six trophy-laden years at Liverpool.

However, he has had to endure a difficult season in Bavaria, with poor form and problems off the pitch.

Bayern are said to be ready to sell Mane despite the player returning to Thomas Tuchel's starting line-up. And Chelsea want to make Mane their first summer signing. Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino, who is said to be vying to take over as Chelsea manager, is also said to be keen to lure the Senegal international to Stamford Bridge.

Torres warns Chelsea

Torres left Atletico Madrid for Liverpool in 2007 and established himself as one of the top scorers in the world for four years.

The Spaniard then disputed a late January deadline to move to Chelsea, where he won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup but failed to reach the heights of his performances at Liverpool.

In 172 games for the Blues, Torres scored just 45 goals before returning to Atletico in 2016 after a short loan spell at AC Milan. While Torres insists he has no regrets about joining Chelsea, the move means he is no longer considered a legend by many Liverpool fans. Indeed, Mane could also damage his reputation with Liverpool fans if he joins Chelsea.

Torres told TalkSPORT:

"Maybe it's my fault for not being able to adapt faster. I've had some really good moments but I'm not consistent. And if you're not stable at a big club like Chelsea and you don't play Every week, someone will come and take your place. "Going to a club full of stars like this in the middle of the season, it's hard to fit in. Maybe I didn't find the partnership I had with [Steven] Gerrard, [Javier] Mascherano and Xabi [ Alonso] but I always said it was my fault, I was old enough to find a solution but I didn't.

"I'm happy I've won the titles I want, I've been playing good football but I don't do it every weekend, so at any big club in the world, if you don't play every weekend, that's not enough. "
