Rodrygo: Manchester City can't afford to overlook Real Madrid's Champions League-obsessed Brazilian.

Rodrygo Goes, the Brazilian forward of Real Madrid, has emerged as a key player under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, much like his fellow Brazilian teammate Vinicius Jr. While Vinicius Jr struggled to find his footing in Madrid, Rodrygo has been quietly developing his game and is now an integral part of the team.

Rodrygo's performance in the quarter-final of the Champions League against Chelsea was impressive, where he scored two goals to help Real Madrid advance to the next stage of the tournament. Although he missed a couple of chances, he made up for it with his composure and finishing in front of goal.

Rodrygo's heroics in Europe are not a one-off event. He has been performing consistently well in the continental competition since the 2019-20 season. Despite playing fewer minutes than some of his more illustrious teammates, Rodrygo has scored 15 goals in Europe, trailing only Karim Benzema in the goalscoring charts for Real Madrid.

The Brazilian forward has also shown his mettle in big games, as demonstrated by his match-winning double in the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna. His performance not only helped Madrid win their first domestic cup since 2014 but also earned him a standing ovation from fans of both teams.

Rodrygo's performances have validated Real Madrid's decision to pay €45 million for him when they signed him from Santos four years ago. He was only 18 at that time, but he has grown into a confident and talented player who is a vital cog in Ancelotti's machine.

As Real Madrid prepare to face Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final, Rodrygo could once again be the difference-maker. His ability to score goals in crucial moments and his composure in front of goal will be crucial for Real Madrid if they are to win the tournament for the second straight year.

Rodrygo Goes has emerged as a player who is delivering on his potential and is becoming a crucial player for Real Madrid. His performances in big games and his consistency in Europe have made him a player to watch out for, and he could well be the key to Real Madrid's success this season
