Despite a 3-2 loss to Swansea on the final day of the season, which prevented West Brom from making the Sky Bet Championship play-offs, Carlos Corberan acknowledged his delight at turning around the team's season.

As play-off underdogs entering the last day of the regular season, West Brom needed to defeat Swansea while hoping for favorable outcomes elsewhere.

After Corberan took charge in October with the team second-bottom of the Championship, the Baggies ultimately finished ninth as Sunderland and Coventry secured the remaining two play-off spots.

To reverse the season's momentum was our difficult goal, according to Corberan, whose team won just three of their final ten contests.

"It was quite unsettling. We moved quickly, paying attention to the opportunities, and I am really pleased of us.Although the team worked very hard, it is unfortunate that we could not make the playoff places. The players continued to believe and give it their all even as the competition came to a close.

Regarding bolstering the squad over the summer, Corberan continued, "I do not know the constraints or the status (of the club), but I will guarantee to work since there is no time to waste in football.

The sooner we are aware of our options and resources, the better off we will be able to field the team West Bromwich requires.

Joel Piroe's winning goal for Swansea in stoppage time—his 20th of the year—left Corberan unimpressed.

I am quite upset that we did not get at least a point from the game, the player stated. With all the things we did well, especially in the second half, I do not believe we deserved to lose.

"We should avoid committing a foul that results in a free kick but a foul on (Jason) Molumby. That makes me more frustrated.

Okay Yokuslu and Semi Ajayi goals for Swansea were cancelled out by goals from Luke Cundle and Olivier Ntcham, and they placed 10th, below West Brom on goal differential.

The Welsh club will receive additional funding this summer, and new chairman Andy Coleman's to-do list will include committing manager Russell Martin to a new deal.

Martin, who became the manager of Swansea in August 2021, has one year remaining on his contract and has been connected to a prospective summer opening at Leicester.
