The attention of Management of the Ghana National Lottery (NLA) has been drawn to the activities of certain individuals or group of individuals who hold themselves out as staff to defraud unsuspecting members through social media and other communication networks.

These fraudsters convince patrons on NLA products to make mobile money transfers to them in exchange for winning lotto numbers. The fraudsters have also set up Facebook and WhatsApp pages using pictures of the Director-General and some staff of the National Lottery Authority to perpetrate their nefarious activities.

These fraudsters have adopted methods to blackmail top officials of NLA but this will not deter NLA from fulfilling its mandate.

The National Lottery Authority wishes to inform the general public that it has not commissioned nor appointed any individual or group of individuals to offer winning lotto numbers to the public through social media platforms or any communication network.

Our products are sold by licensed retailers or Points of Sale Terminals (POSTs) that generate NLA branded electronic tickets upon purchase. This is proof of your transaction and can be used to redeem your prize when you win.

Anyone who transacts business with any of these individuals or groups of individuals on social media platforms or any communication network does so at their risk as NLA shall not be held liable for any losses arising from such transactions.
