Barcelona are preparing to celebrate their La Liga title win on May 15, if they clinch the trophy the day before.

La Blaugrana are easing towards a first league title since 2019, in the campaign run-in, as Xavi’s young side continue to impress this season.

Ahead of this weekend’s action, Barcelona are 13 points clear of second place Atletico Madrid, and a win at rivals Espanyol will crown them as champions, regardless of Atletico’s result at Elche.

Victory at the home of their rivals will add an extra motivation for Barcelona on May 13 and they will look to kick off their celebrations as soon as possible.

As per reports from RAC1, the club are in talks with Barcelona city authorities, to stage a parade through the streets of the Catalan capital.

Full details on the parade route will be announced in due course with the party set to end at the Camp Nou late on May 14.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone: Could I go back to Inter Milan or Lazio?

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone admits his next contract could be his last.

Simeone was in Naples last week to see the city celebrate Napoli's title and see son Giovanni.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I have another year on my contract, we'll see what will happen. You find the incentives because in a club like this you often change the players and you have to change the way you are on the field. Also, football has changed.

"I think of (Diego) Godín and that generation: today it would be surpassed by the way of being on the field. Everything is faster, and I also have to update myself as a coach and in my methodologies.

“In Catania I have matured my ideas a lot. I don't know how long I will continue training, I am 53 years old: five more? It is a job with a lot of stress, but it is also true that a few days of vacation were enough to return to the field. The grass is like a drug to us. Inter and Lazio fans ask me to come back... Who knows? I would certainly be excited."
