The final-four matchup with Inter is a rematch of the 2003 semifinal.
Olivier Giroud, an AC Milan striker, is focused on going back in time as he seeks to add another Champions League championship to his list of achievements.
The Frenchman, who will turn 37 in September, scooped up a trophy as an inactive substitute in Chelsea's 1-0 victory against Premier League rival Manchester City in the final in 2021 and isn't letting getting older make him less driven to succeed.
Before the highly anticipated semi-final matchup with Inter on Wednesday night, Giroud declared at a press conference: "Today I'm more determined than before.
"I think I have a tremendous chance to win the Champions League. Despite being [almost] 37 years old, I still act like a young lad.
The Milan rivals will compete for the chance to play Real Madrid or City in the final in Istanbul next month. Each team has won its respective Serie A "home" game this season, and Inter won the Coppa Italia in January, but Milan has won both previous meetings in Europe's top club competition.
A derby is always a special encounter, according to Giroud. We hope to accomplish something fantastic tomorrow, and I am really pleased of this Milan team.
Although Rafael Leao is suffering a thigh injury, coach Stefano Pioli is hoping for more of the same after leading his team through Tottenham and the recently crowned Italian champions Napoli to reach the final four.
It will require excellent teamwork, as we have seen in the last four Champions League games, according to Pioli. We shall endeavor to accomplish an exceptional job in order to achieve an amazing result.
Since November 2021, the teams have faced off seven times. Inter has performed significantly better, winning three games to Milan's two, with two games ending in draws. However, manager Simone Inzaghi makes little sense of that record.
