Gary Neville has expressed concern over the Newcastle United transfer rumour, saying it will 'terrify him to death'.
Newcastle have spent wisely since the Saudi Arabia-backed takeover, signing experienced Premier League players like Dan Burn and Kieran Trippier.
The club have also paid for players such as Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon, who have been bought from Everton.
But as the Warblers move closer to Champions League qualification, they are being linked with superstar talent who can command high prices and contracts.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been logically linked with a move to St. James Park, with his future with Al Nassr still the subject of intense transfer speculation. Not to mention Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, the latest player to be linked with a big move to the North East side.
The 31-year-old is also generating plenty of transfer rumors, with the Brazilian said to be exploring his options ahead of the summer transfer window after the PSG superstars stormed his home.

With their financial backing, Newcastle could be an option - but the idea of ??Neymar plying his trade at the Premier League side has worried Neville, who claims Eddie Howe has a 'circus' in hand.

"That kind of signing would scare me," the former Manchester United defender said on his podcast. "Neymar is a great player but I think Eddie Howe will suddenly have a circus - Eddie Howe doesn't need a circus here. You think about what Newcastle is like right now, they're building, they've got the background. foundation."

Neville added:
"What you don't want to do is basically break that. The fans are really behind the team, they're behind the manager, there's a kind of mind-building.
"They're going to have to do it at some point, move on to these big-name signings, and they're going to have to take that leap and Eddie will have to be brave at some point and say 'yes,' let's go for it'."
