NDC PRIMARIES: I'LL ACT AS DUFFUOR-ANYIDOHO'S REPRESENTATIVE

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former deputy general secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that he will cast his ballot for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor in the May 13 presidential primary.

After being found guilty of misbehavior and anti-party activities by the NDC disciplinary committee in 2021, Koku Anyidoho was removed from the party.

Koku Anyidoho, who was a guest speaker at the event, spoke to the media on the sidelines in Koforidua and referred to his alleged removal from the party as merely persecution that had no legal foundation and was thus void.

He still sees himself as an actual NDC member, so he will participate in the forthcoming primaries.

Technically, we were meant to cast our votes for our lawmakers and flag-bearer one week from now, on May 6. I'll cast my vote in my role as a previous appointee and former national official. Asiedu Nketia may come and delete my vote from the voting list since I have a new card.

Koku Anyidoho announced his support for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and said he would act as his representative during the primary elections.

In addition to that, I'd like to say that I'm backing Dr. Kwabena Duffuor in the presidential primary. One of the reasons they said they had expelled me from the party was because I had stated that I would not support John Mahama and that I was not a serf to him.

I and John Mahama will not serve him as their serfs.

Mr. Koku Anyidoho emphasized that former President John Dramani Mahama's economic management skills pale in comparison to those of Dr. Duffuor.

"Dr. Duffuor worked with President Mills because I worked with him, so I know what he stands for in terms of constructing the economy that President Mills built," said John Evans Atta Mills.

"After 32, 34 months of single-digit inflation, the introduction of the single spine, the clearing of the arrears, infrastructure expansion, three public universities in three and a half years, and health facilities all over, I believe that Dr. Duffuor has the potential by training, by competence, and by experience both in public and private life," he said.

Mr. Koku Anyidoho requested the electoral commission resolve issues raised by Dr. Duffuor's campaign team over the delayed publication of voter registration.

He claims that there may be legal repercussions if the issues brought up by the Dr. Duffuor campaign team are not quickly resolved by Saturday, May 12, 2023.

While this is going on, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, an aspirant presidential candidate in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), claims the May 13 presidential primaries must be free, fair, and transparent elections that will guarantee post-election harmony.

Therefore, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor said that concerns regarding the Election Committee of the NDC's tardiness in providing the Electoral Commission with the voter record must be swiftly addressed.
