Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny returns to training ahead of Brighton clash as club provide injury update
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has returned to training as he enters the next phase of his recovery from a knee injury.
The Egyptian was injured in training before the 2-0 win over Tottenham in January.
At the time, coach Mikel Arteta could not confirm the extent of the problem - but expressed concern that Elneny could have long-term problems.
In March, the midfielder signed a new one-year contract with Arsenal to ensure next season the Egyptian will recover from injury and return to the first team before the start of the new season.

After signing a new contract, Elneny said:
"When I got injured, they talked to me right away. Mikel, my first day after my injury. Of course, that's something special for me.
"In the first interview when I signed, they asked me what I wanted in the future. I said I wanted to be an Arsenal legend."
Fortunately, it looks like the Egyptian is back on schedule, he was photographed during training - and the club have released updates on his recovery.

Elneny is back in training
Arsenal have confirmed, via their official website, that Elneny has returned to London Colney training ground as he prepares to return to action. However, the 30-year-old has yet to train with his teammates and the club say he is still likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
But Elneny ran on the grass, and Arsenal say he has been praised by Arteta and the Gunners players for his "hard work and determination to get back to this point".

The midfielder is now hoping to be completely fit for Arsenal's pre-season campaign, with the new Premier League season set to officially kick off on Saturday 12 August.
He has made 155 appearances for the Gunners since signing from Swiss giants Basel in 2016, with eight of those scored this season before he picked up a knee injury.
