Brazilian legend, Ronaldo Nazario once shared the touching story of why Diego Maradona often wears 2 watches.
The former Barcelona, ??Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker said he had a genuine friendship with Maradona, who passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60.
"Diego has left an incredible legacy in football," Ronaldo, now president of Spanish club Real Valladolid, told a press conference. "His loss is very difficult to accept. The news took me by surprise and very sad."

"One of the first times he visited me in Madrid, we had dinner," Ronaldo said. “Diego carries two watches and legend has it that he doesn't go anywhere without both.

"At the end of the meal, he took one and gave it to me," the former Brazil international added. "I didn't want to accept it, but he got mad and I had no choice.
"I will take care of him for the rest of my life in memory of his generosity and friendship."

Ronaldo later told reporters that he spoke with Maradona less than three months before his death, when they discussed a player the then Gimnasia boss was coaching.
“I asked him about one of his players, a midfielder,” said Ronaldo. "He said great things to me. I explained to him what I do [at Real Valladolid] and he thought it was great. He always wanted to help me."
