Black Sherif, commonly known as Blacko, is a singer-songwriter from Konongo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Sherif delves deeply into the trap music subgenre while fusing it with rap and singing. Mohammed Ismail Sherif is the real name of Black. Blacko was born on January 9th, 2002. He was raised in the Ashanti Region city of Konongo. Blacko, as he is known, is skilled at dancing to the music.
The rising sensation started his career as a dancer but was forced to transition to music while still in high school.
The "Kwaku The Traveller" hitmaker claims that what he has accomplished so far is merely a springboard for him to begin the real business of creating songs and collecting more awards.
Black Sherif told the journalists on Sunday morning at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center, "I've not even started, so you know what's next."
His message has left the great artists and fans shocked ad eager to see what else he has in store for them.
Black Sherif also addressed the idea that the street and the church were competing for the title of Artiste of the Year at the 24th VGMAs. i.e., himself and Piesie Esther, a gospel vocalist.
He made it clear that the two had never competed, rather, it was always "us against us."
The reason he is where he is now, he said, is because of his fans and supporters, who he loved and thanked.
The singer also emphasized that he could not have accrued the present number of streams without the support of his followers.
we all agree that this guys has been all over the world including Ghana and beyond.
The question then is, is he going to win this award again next year? Is he really yet to start anything like hes saying? Well, thats something wed find out more as time goes on..
