Arsenal hope to announce new contract for Bukayo Saka before the end of the season
Bukayo Saka's new contract is expected to be announced by Arsenal before the Premier League regular season is over.
The England striker and the club have been in negotiations since last year, but the forward is set on inking a new contract, which may potentially be finalized before the summer break.
Saka, 21, is the only player in the Premier League to have double digits in goals and assists this season and has been instrumental in the Gunners' title challenge.
In order to take Mikel Arteta's team reach second place and stay in the title race going into the final few weeks of the season, he has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists.
In addition to scoring three goals at the World Cup, when England advanced to the quarterfinals in Qatar, Saka has missed just one hour of league play this year.
Before the season is through, Arsenal hopes to confirm Bukayo Saka's signing to a new deal.
It appears that Saka will continue playing for Mikel Arteta's squad.
It is reported that the promotional video that will be published with the announcement has already been shot.
The two parties had been in discussions with Arsenal about new terms since last summer, and Saka stated in August that he "shared confidence" with Arteta that he would extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
It is believed that a deal has almost definitely been agreed for the academy graduate, whose current contract was signed in the summer of 2020 and expires the following year.
In order to finalize the agreement, it is thought that the promotional video that will be published simultaneously with the announcement has already been finished.
Granit Xhaka might be moving this summer, but Saka is almost ready to commit his long-term future to Arsenal.
According to reports, the club would be open to letting the Switzerland captain, whose contract also expires in 2024, leave if they were to get a reasonable offer.
