NPP supporters share 'Mahama is an alcoholic' letter rejected by Camp Duffuor
Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and governmentmedia continue to circulate inflammatory letters allegedlyfrom the camp of former finance minister Kwabena Duffuor.
The letter, among other things, accused former President John Dramanu Mahama of having a drinking problem and having a bad driving record. One of the NPP's main agencies that shareand retweet letters is Twitta Patriots. The subject of their letter read: \"#AlcoholicMahama serious issues raised by Duffuor team."
A GhanaWeb investigation revealed that the said letter was a doctor. Duffuor's camp was rejected by GHOne TV, a channel that Duffuor is interested in.
The written doctor's letter citesa passage from Duffour's May 8, 2023 press letter calling for the postponement of the May 13 presidential and parliamentary hearings citing violations in voter registration. It is sent to the SecretaryGeneral of the NDC.
The two letters are in the same letterhead, with one signatory in the name of Duffuor and the addressee at NDC headquarters. The doctor'sversion discusses the politician's alcoholism in a letter that makes accusations against the character of John Mahama for his authority and background.
