Axel Hallmann, the CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt, stated that the club would need to get a proposal greater than £78 million in order to sell Randal Kolo Muani, despite interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
This summer, Manchester United will be looking to add a new number nine, and Kolo Muani has surfaced as a potential target and Harry Kane substitute.
A number of clubs are keeping an eye on the French international, who participated in last year's World Cup Final, ahead of the summer transfer season. Since coming from Nantes to Frankfurt last summer, he has scored 13 goals in 28 games.
The 24-year-old is still bound to a long-term contract with Frankfurt, thus the German club wants to hold onto him. CEO Hallmann thinks that in the current market, even a valuation of £78m would not lure the Bundesliga side into selling their best asset.
According to a TeamTalk report, he said: "Kolo Muani? I picture a different amount, greater than this, when I consider the global market than €90m.
He has an extended contract. He stays with Eintracht; that would be the absolute best case scenario.
The striker is being monitored by a number of clubs in addition to United, including Bayern Munich, Napoli, Barcelona, Newcastle, Atletico Madrid, and PSG.
Chelsea might also become involved in the search as they consider their own striker options for the upcoming campaign after a new manager at Stamford Bridge has been named.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, recently acknowledged that the club will prioritize finding a new number nine this summer and that Kolo Muani is a more cost-effective option than pursuing Harry Kane.
To move the large front man to Old Trafford, meanwhile, would require an almost club-record transfer fee, according to the amount mentioned by the CEO of Frankfurt. In other words, they might feel tempted to focus on a target who is already well-known, like Kane.
With Kane's contract expiring next year and Spurs now operating without a regular manager, Kane's future is still up in the air.
The 29-year-old would have to be lured out of North London with a proposal beyond £100 million, which would necessitate a challenging negotiation process with owner Daniel Levy.
Along with Kane and Kolo Muani, Victor Osimhen of Napoli, a Serie A champion, and Rasmus Hojlund of Denmark, a current Atalanta striker, have also been mentioned in connection with the Red Devils.
