Real Madrid draw at home with Manchester City

The white Angels of Spain drew to the English side, Manchester City on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League on their home grounds, Santiago Bernabeau. This was at tensed match which people all over the world were more concentrated on.


After 90 mins, the two teams ended up in a 1-1 draw. Real Madrid star, Vinicius Junior opened up the score on the 34th minute with a beautiful assist from his teammate Eduardo Camavinga. 

On the 67th minute, Kevin De Bruyne the Manchester City skimmer equalized for the visitors with an assist from his teammate Iker Gundogan. After all the actions in the game, the match ended up in a draw. 



 Kevin De Bruyne emerged as the man of the match. During the post match conference, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the performance of his players and sad they’re well prepared for the second league which will be played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. The Real Madrid coach said the Los Blancos deserved to beat their opponents[Manchester City]. 



He said: “Good, good. It was a good game and we had some positive feelings about it. In the first 30 minutes we played well and the players worked well in the transitions. The team played well, I am satisfied. We are happy and have strong motivation for the next one.” He continued by praising his player, Antonio Rudiger who had a solid performance. He included: “You need to keep calm, stay in your defensive position and not go crazy to press. We stayed with a low block and with our first chance, we scored the opening goal. We deserved to win... but it’s a good result for us and for City.”


There were a lot of controversies about the goal of their opponent which made him complain. He got a yellow card on that act. Speaking about the yellow card, he said: “It seemed to me that the ball had gone out but also the play before should have been a corner and it wasn’t given. The ref wasn’t aware, I have already told him that the cards should be given to those who were on the pitch, not to those of us who are on it...”



The Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola on the other hand said he’s confident that his side will beat Real Madrid when they[Real Madrid] return to the Etihad Stadium. Speaking to BT Sports about the match he said: “Semi-finals at the Bernabeu is always a difficult game,” the City boss said: “We had some good moments but sometimes it is difficult with the quality that they have with the ball. It’s 1-1, and [it’ll be like] a final next Wednesday at home with our people.” 



Manchester City had a better game in the early minutes of the game but Real Madrid opened the score sheet. They[Real Madrid] improved their game in the second half but they conceded. Pep Guardiola speaking about this performance to BT sports he said: “When we were better they scored, and when they were better we scored,” Guardiola joked after the full time whistle. “We started really well in the first half, and in the second half as well… They made a lot of passes and put a lot of players on the left side where they are really, really good.”
