Lionel Messi's wife, who is reportedly apprehensive about the family moving to the Gulf state, may have an impact on any desire the player may have to move to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal has made the Argentine World Cup champion a contract offer that may be worth an astounding £522 million.

The long-time rivalry between the Paris Saint-Germain player and Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al-Nassr at the end of December, would be reignited should he sign with the Saudi club.

Messi is willing to postpone his decision until the end of the current campaign; however, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo may have an impact.

According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Antonela 'can't envisage' her family going to Saudi Arabia.

She would want to remain in Europe and is reluctant for the couple to go to the Middle East with their three young sons, Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 5.

According to L'Equipe, Messi is being offered a two-year contract with a third-year option, at the end of which he will be 38 years old.

Messi reportedly keeps an eye on the financial situation at his old team Barcelona and would still love to remain in Europe.

However, in order to sign new contract extensions with players who are currently on the books or who are recruited, the Spanish giants where Messi began his illustrious career must find about £175 million.

Similar to Ronaldo, Saudi Arabia views Messi as the game's leading star and considers the possibility of him relocating there to be a "unique opportunity that is impossible to pass up."

Riyadh is said to have spent months planning its tactics and "left nothing to chance."

At the end of the current campaign, Messi's contract with PSG will expire, and the 35-year-old forward appears destined to depart the team where he has struggled to establish the same degree of kinship as he achieved at Barcelona.

After he made an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, where he holds a £25 million-per-year tourist ambassadorial job, speculation about a relocation there increased.

The French giants were so unhappy with Messi's trip that they suspended him for two weeks.

The PSG players were supposed to have the day off on Monday, but manager Christophe Galtier made them report for extra training after the team's 3-1 loss to Lorient the day before.

Messi, however, was unable to turn around because he was already traveling to Saudi Arabia, where he may play football in the upcoming season.

Hello, said the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner in a contrite apology posted on social media. Well, with everything going on, I felt compelled to create this video.

I want to start out by once again apologizing to my club teammates. Sincerely, I believed that we would enjoy our customary day off following the game.

"I had planned this trip to Saudi Arabia, but I had to cancel it," the person said. I apologize once more for what I did. So here I am doing nothing more than watching to see what the club wants to do. A hug.'

However, Messi has now resumed training after his suspension was revoked.

Messi, Antonela, and his kids were pictured visiting sights in Diriyah and the capital Riyadh on a recent family trip to Saudi Arabia.

With Paris Saint-Germain, Messi is focused on the season's last match and hopes to finish the year with the French league championship.

According to the Spanish publication El Chiringuito, Messi may be joined in Al-Hilal by Jordi Alba and former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets, who has agreed to a two-season contract.
