Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has refused to rule out a return to Birmingham City next season.

Hannibal, 20, has spent the season on loan at the Championship club, making his last appearance for the club on Monday against promoted Sheffield United.

He came on from the bench to replace Juninho Bacuna in the Blues' 1-2 loss to United on the final day.

In total, Hannibal has made 41 appearances for Birmingham this season, scoring once and providing six assists to help them narrowly be relegated to 17th place.

He will now enjoy a well-deserved break before returning to Manchester United and will hopefully feature in Erik ten Hag's first-team plans over the summer. "First of all, the Championship is tough so I'm going to have a great break," Hannibal told BirminghamLive.

"After that, I will think about next season and prepare for the pre-season with Man United."

Asked if he could return to Birmingham, Hannibal added:

"We'll see at the end of pre-season. Why not? You never know."

Hannibal thanked Birmingham in an emotional statement

Hannibal also posted a touching message to Birmingham on his Instagram account, thanking the club and fans for their support.

“A big thank you to the amazing team for their support and guidance, as well as the passionate fans who made my time in St Andrews unforgettable,” he wrote. Advertisement

“I have great memories and friends here in Birmingham, and I am proud to wear the Blues shirt.

"As I move into the next chapter of my career, I will always cherish my time here and the relationships I've forged.

"I wish the club, my teammates and all the fans the best in the future.

"Let's keep moving forward and make Birmingham FC proud!"

Asamoah Gyan is the most dedicated player while playing for the Black Stars - the head of GFA

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante described Asamoah Gayn as the most dedicated player to ever play for the Black Stars.

Gyan is considered one of the best strikers to ever play for the senior national team and emerge from the continent.

The former Sunderland striker remains the country's all-time leading scorer and Africa's top scorer in World Cup history.

He participated in several major tournaments with the Black Stars and came close to winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2010 and 2015.

“For me, Asamoah Gyan is the most dedicated player I have ever seen playing for the Black Stars,” Mr Asante told Asempa FM as Footballghana.com watched. "There was a game the Black Stars were supposed to play. Gyan trained with the team and after arriving at the team hotel, his knee suddenly swelled up and all the players were surprised.

"Dr Baba was the team doctor at the time and he took Gyan into a room and we all could hear Gyan screaming and crying because the team doctors were trying to help him. He was healthy enough to be able to play and despite his pain, Gyan still played the game, he was out of shape.

"Gyan's commitment and dedication to the national team is what makes him and for me the most dedicated player to ever play for the national team," he added.

The last time Gyan played for the national team was in 2019 at AFCON in Egypt. Gyan is currently without a club after parting ways with Legon Cities.
