David Beckham attended Tuesday night's highly-anticipated clash in Madrid, meaning he missed seeing his 20-year-old son Romeo lift the professional trophy for the first time. Romeo, who has made several appearances for Brentford B this season, was an unused substitute in the Premier League Cup final.
The tournament featured 32 teams from the Premier League 2 and Professional Development League, with under-21 teams competing in the UEFA Champions League format.

"A night like this is the perfect end to a spectacular season," MacFarlane told the club's official website. "I'm glad they delivered overnight.
"It was a great night for them; big crowd and play here at Gtech."
As for his loan spell at Brentford from MLS' Inter Miami, it looks like Romeo has to make a big decision after the Bees made a call about his future. Advertisement
According to The Telegraph, the Premier League club have offered Beckham the chance to extend his stay until next season after an impressive stint in west London.
Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, recently dismissed suggestions that bringing the 20-year-old to the club was a gimmick.
Speaking on the High Performance podcast, he said:
“We brought in Romeo from Inter Miami on loan to our B team and it was one of the most read stories that day on the site. It was not a publicity stunt at all.
"Thinking to Romeo is we have a connection in football, he was looking for places to train in England when he was an Inter Miami player."

He added:
“We said for sure, but we haven't looked beyond the process yet, will he add to that environment as a player? If he comes in and says, "I'm Beckham," it would be a disaster for us. Characters must be correct.
