The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has refuted social media rumors that a paracetamol pill marketed as "P-500" is available in Ghana.

The paracetamol in question is allegedly exceedingly white and glossy, and it was allegedly produced by Chinese and Indians in an effort to decrease the number of Africans, particularly Ghanaians.

However, the authority emphasized in a statement that the circulating information is erroneous and should be ignored.

"No adverse reports of hospitalization associated with the use of any paracetamol tablet have been submitted to the FDA."

According to him, "The FDA advises that anyone in Ghana who receives the said "alert" disregard the information and work to stop its spread because the content is untrue."

Below is the complete statement:

Fake Alert for Paracetamol Tablets

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has been concerned about a recurrent "alert" that appears as an audio and visual that is spreading across multiple social media platforms and claims that a paracetamol pill, "P-500," is in Ghana.

The tablet, which is claimed to be exceptionally white and dazzling, is supposed to have been made by the Chinese and Indians in an effort to lower the number of Africans, particularly Ghanaians.

The Authority has not registered or approved the sale of any such paracetamol pill, "P-500," in Ghana. The FDA would like to clarify.

Additionally, the FDA wants to reassure the general public that the circulation's content cannot be verified. Furthermore, the FDA has not received any negative hospitalizations linked to the use of paracetamol tablets in general.

The FDA advises everyone in Ghana who receives the aforementioned "alert" to ignore the material and stop its distribution since it is untrue.

In the meantime, the FDA recommends the general public only buy all medications from authorized retailers, such as pharmacies, OTC sellers, and medical institutions.
