Dr. Dan Plumley, a sports finance expert, asserted that the Glazer family, who now own Manchester United, are leaning toward accepting the offer from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The 20-time English champions have received a purchase offer from a Qatari financier, who is said to have offered more than £5 billion. A deal might be finalized next month.

Before the deadline for the third round of bidding, Sir Jim Ratcliffe also submitted a bid, although the British billionaire is only interested in acquiring a majority interest in Man United, which might allow the Glazers to retain their minority ownership.

Raine Group, who are working on a sale, has supposedly not yet gotten in touch with Sheikh Jassim.

Despite assertions that co-owners Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer desire to stay at the club, Plumley predicts that the American owners will favor the Qatari banker's offer more.

In the end, I believe that money is always the deciding factor. If not the best offer, then the one that is marginally preferable in terms of the funding, according to Plumley's statement to Express Sport.

The Qatar bid is currently probably slightly preferred because it is a full takeover, in my opinion, if that is the price (£5/6bn) that the Glazers are wanting or at least are willing to sell at for a full takeover. However, you know you're always slightly speculating.

Additionally, you know that through the ties of that owner you may have access to finances later on to build the club because you need to think about infrastructure, squad development, etc. It seems like that one has the most clout because it involves so many more factors in addition to the takeover price.

"I believe that has always been the litmus test for this one [prior to the summer transfer window]," the speaker said. In the first place, you must consider that in light of the November deadline.

These processes frequently take that long, and you will likely claim that they must take time if you have a $5–$6 billion acquisition in place.

"You ought to conduct thorough background checks on everyone. From the perspective of the fans, it may seem like it's dragged on, but that is the kind of outcome that was always going to occur.

"Everything seemed to point to a deal being completed before the beginning of the following window so that the potential new owners or investors might have preparations in place for the summer and moving forward.

Separate from his original bid, Sheikh Jassim is said to have committed a further £800 million to Man United's infrastructure, including upgrades to Old Trafford and the team's practice facility.

Should a buyout be successful, the Qatari is anticipated to provide head coach Erik ten Hag with considerable transfer cash.
