Jose Mourinho has denied rumors that he has discussed managing Paris Saint-Germain in the future.
According to reports in France, the Roma manager has spoken with the Ligue 1 powerhouses and is engaged in advanced contract negotiations.
The 60-year-old is getting his team ready for Thursday night's opening leg of their Europa League semifinal against Bayer Leverkusen.
Reporters questioned Mourinho about whether he had discussed replacing PSG's current manager Christophe Galtier with them prior to the game.
'If they called, they didn't find me,' he responded when Sky Sports Italia questioned him.
'I've never spoken to them,' Mourinho continued with a smile.
Mourinho won the Europa Conference League with Roma last season after being hired as their manager in May 2021.
Despite the prospect that he could guide the Italian team to additional European triumphs this season, his future at the club remains unknown.
His deal is slated to end in 2024, and according to RMC Sport, PSG director Luis Campos has spoken with the representative of the two-time Champions League champion about a potential summer transfer.
Additionally, they said that talks between Campos and Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes are "advanced" and that the Roma coach is also enthusiastic about the PSG venture.
The club is considering hiring Mourinho as a replacement for Galtier, who is the current manager.
Despite being on track to win Ligue 1, PSG has struggled to meet expectations, losing in the round of 16 of the Champions League, and putting on underwhelming performances.
They have lost to Rennes, Lyon, and Lorient in the league, and they were soundly defeated by Bayern Munich on an international level by a score of 3-0 on aggregate.
Roma will take on Xabi Alonso's previous team, Bayer Leverkusen, on Thursday in the opening leg of the Europa League semifinals.
They are among the top European teams at counterattacks, according to Mourinho.
They play defense, wait for their opponent to lose the ball, and then it's hard to stop them, which makes them highly dangerous at this point in the game. They have lots of quick attackers.
Despite the fact that they have been seen practicing, Paulo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum are not expected to start, according to Mourinho.
