Crystal Palace are on the lookout for a new right-back this summer, and Max Aarons is reportedly at the top of their wishlist.
The Norwich City defender has been identified as the perfect candidate to replace Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne, who have both struggled to nail down that role in the side.
According to reports, Aarons was the subject of a £10m bid from Crystal Palace back in 2019, as they looked to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, the offer was rejected by Norwich, and Aarons stayed put at Carrow Road.
Now, the 23-year-old is said to be available for the same amount, with Norwich wary of losing him for nothing in 2024. Aarons made 45 appearances in the Championship this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists as Norwich finished 13th.
The Londoner has attracted interest from a number of top clubs, including Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but it seems Crystal Palace are leading the race for his signature. Aarons would fit in nicely with the Eagles' strategy of signing young, exciting talent who have made their name in the Championship, such as Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi.
Norwich are said to be in need of a rebuild and fresh ideas, and it appears that Aarons is ready for a new challenge. With his pace and attacking prowess, he would be a great addition to any Premier League side, and Crystal Palace are certainly in need of a new right-back. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to secure his services, but keep an eye on Aarons over the summer as he looks set to make a move.
