It will be recalled that, Ghana Education Service (GES) interdicted the Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi over alleged allocation of illegal collection of fees and funds from students.
The Ghana Education Service( GES) has now lifted the interdiction of Mr. Kenneth Agbomadzi, who is the headmaster of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi, following the outcome of a committee report on allegations of illegal imposition of levies on students. As of the 8th day of May 2023, Mr. Agbomadzi has been reinstated to continue his role as the headmaster for the school.
In a statement which was signed by Mrs. Felicia Agyeibea Okai who is regarded as the Director of Education in Western Region, the Director- General directed her to 're-instate the Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School,Mr. Agbomadzi on effective 8th May, 2023, based on the outcome of the reports of the Investigative Committee’s on the contended collection of illegal levies and funds in the school.'
However, the Ghana Education Service (GES), further gave a caution against unauthorized collection of levies and funds and advised that it takes any act of illegal collection seriously. In addition, Ghana Education Service (GES) made it known that, illegal collection of funds and levies from students in the school will no longer be entertained as they goes against the policies of the system.
The statement further cautioned that, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will never hesitate to take severe warrants against any other officer who goes against its directives and rakes in the near future as they goes against their rules and regulations.
Ghana Education Service (GES) has again, instructed the head of the school, the teachers and also parents of the Fijai Senior High School to be clear of the gravity nature of unauthorized collection of funds.
The Regional Director of the Western Region, Felicia Agyeibea Okai, has also been directed to hand over the administration of the school to the interdicted Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School, and accord him the necessary support for him to serve effectively.
