Oliver Kahn, CEO of Bayern Munich, has made it appear as though they will not pursue Victor Osimhen this summer, which is very encouraging for Manchester United's pursuit of the striker.

The 24-year-old has contributed significantly to Napoli's success in Serie A this season, scoring 23 goals in the league as Luciano Spalletti's team won their first Scudetto in 33 years earlier this month.

Since losing Cristiano Ronaldo in November, finding a new striker has been a top priority for United, and Osimhen has been mentioned frequently.

The Nigerian international won't be leaving Napoli this summer, according to club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, and the player has batted off rumors of a transfer. However, the Red Devils think he will be available for about £130 million.

Osimhen is also a target for Chelsea, who may be aiming to outbid United with a partial trade involving Christian Pulisic, but according to Kahn, Bayern Munich is not a contender for Osimhen's services.

We have to inquire: "Does the player give you a guarantee for this money?" when it comes to such a cost. He spoke with SportBILD. That would undoubtedly involve a lot of risk.

If the German powerhouses have given up on signing Osimhen, it might be yet another indication of their waning influence in European football.

They don't appear to be able to keep up with rivals like Real Madrid and Manchester City in the race to sign the greatest free agents, and they were soundly defeated by Pep Guardiola's team in this year's Champions League quarterfinal. They are also not thought to be a genuine contender for Jude Bellingham.

Sadio Mane has failed to find his best form and has scored just seven league goals since Bayern was able to acquire him from Liverpool last summer.

Harry Kane of Tottenham is another forward possibility that United are considering, despite the striker's recent declaration that he wants to remain with the team.

After the Red Devils lost both of their most recent games, pressure has begun to mount on them after they were secure in their top-four place only one week before.

Despite having a game in hand, their lead over fifth-place Liverpool has been reduced to just one point following consecutive 1-0 losses to Brighton and West Ham.

In the six games they have won prior to their final three matches against Leicester, Aston Villa, and Southampton, Jurgen Klopp's team appears to have found their form at the right time.

On paper, United's remaining schedule against Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Fulham is uncomplicated, and they will be encouraged by the fact that three of those games will be played at Old Trafford.

On May 20, they will go to Bournemouth, which might be a difficult test for a team that has only won seven league away games all season.
