According to sources who spoke to 90min, Brighton & Hove Albion would think about letting Moises Caicedo leave the team this summer if their expectations for the player are reached.
Long-term, the Seagulls don't plan to become a selling club, but they are also an analytically focused team, and every player has a price.
Although Alexis Mac Allister is expected to depart this summer, many in Brighton's management believe that he is the only important player who ought to be allowed to leave before the 2023–24 campaign.
However, 90min has been informed that Brighton are prepared to talk to Caicedo about his future if the asking price for the in-demand player exceeds a specific amount, which is thought to be £80m.
In January, Brighton turned down every offer for the midfielder, with Chelsea and Arsenal pushing hard and having proposals of up to £70 million turned down.
Caicedo announced his intention to depart in January, but a few weeks after the transfer window closed, he signed a new long-term contract that would keep him with the team through 2027 with an additional year's option.
Despite this new contract, Arsenal are still very interested in signing Caicedo and moving him to north London. The Gunners are big fans of Declan Rice of West Ham, but 90min knows that Caicedo is still a possibility.
In addition to Manchester City, Caicedo is reported to be on the list of potential backups for top target Jude Bellingham, who is most likely to join Real Madrid this summer. Liverpool and Manchester United are also confirmed admirers of Caicedo and maintain an interest.
Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, wants to maintain his important players, but bringing in £150 million for Mac Allister and Caicedo, who cost the team a combined $11 million, would be a staggering deal for any club. However, De Zerbi is getting more involved in the club's transfer decisions.
