Liverpool are said to be keeping a close eye on Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella and if they are tracking his side's 2-0 Champions League semi-final win over rivals AC Milan, they will receive more info makes it clear that he might be worth a try this summer. The Italian international and Euro 2020 champion need no introduction in European circles has quickly established himself as one of the best players in Serie A, where he has flourished with Inter since from Cagliari.
He won over Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who appreciates the player so much that he practically celebrated his absence ahead of last season's Champions League last-16 clash with Inter.
The German said in February 2022:
"He's a very good player, a very good player and I like him a lot. He has everything you would expect from a midfielder:
he's aggressive, he's technical, he can run for hours and all that. He's a top player."
Now Klopp must decide whether Liverpool can afford to make a prestigious offer for the 26-year-old, which could be the answer to the Reds' problems in midfield.
Gianluca Di Marzio has indicated that Liverpool need to watch Barella play against AC Milan after he recently sent scouts to watch him during Inter's 3-1 win over Lazio.

It's safe to say they'll be impressed with what they see as his fingerprints are all over the place during the Nerazzurri's precious first leg win in which they dominated for big time possession.
Arguably Barella's best quality is that it stands up to the press. He has the composure and wisdom to evade opponents before maintaining possession.
It's a technique that only a handful of people can master, one being Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard has missed large parts of the season through injury and the Red Devils deeply miss his quality in the engine room, where they lost control of games.
During Liverpool's most difficult period in a tumultuous and unpredictable season, they have struggled to establish control and, in many cases, this is where the game goes.
They are currently losing more than four centre-backs this summer without heavy cost and Liverpool will now have to replace those leaving to new pastures with real quality players. Barella will bring that to the table and the fact that he can make such an impact on a game of this magnitude says a lot about his class.
The Italian has shown his top form here and although he does occasionally lose the ball, some of his touches and passes are still amusing.
There was one particular strike in the first half as Inter took a two-goal lead that mesmerized the San Siro crowd.
Liverpool may need more than one midfielder, but they also need to make sure they sign players who can take their side to the next level.
Barella is the number 8 they miss so much and now Jude Bellingham is out of the question - that's exactly where Liverpool should shop. He won't come cheap and Inter are expected to demand up to £60m for the player, who continues to thrive at club and international level.
