Vinicius Jr put Los Blancos ahead, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring afterwards to give City every chance to progress to next month's final.
City were able to secure a draw against Real Madrid but Erling Haaland equalized as the Norway international failed to add to his 51-goal tally this season.
But Guardiola has made it clear that he is pleased with the youngster's performance and is not worried about his quiet evening, despite his side failing to win. “The spaces and spaces between the centre-back and the full-back were occupied. It wasn't easy for Erling,” he said.
