Emma Hayes claims she enjoys "putting pressure on others" after Chelsea cut the lead between themselves and WSL leaders Manchester United to one point on Wednesday.
Champions In a brutal performance at Kingsmeadow, Chelsea defeated Leicester 6-0 to close the gap between themselves and Manchester United in advance of Sunday's FA Cup final between the two championship contenders at Wembley.
The title is in Chelsea's hands because they have a game in hand over United, but Hayes appreciates the fresh atmosphere of this season's final stretch.
"I enjoy being in this position and applying pressure to people. Although I don't mind being there (top), I enjoy this, Hayes stated.
This entire year, we have been in pursuit and have consistently lagged one or two games. It's good to have the gap closed, but now we need to put pressure on Man United as we're still in second place and not in the driver's seat.
"We've had to find methods to triumph without flashy play, but I think our confidence level right now is incredibly high. We're in the best situation of the entire season right now.
"I already have plans for Sunday. We know exactly how we want to play, and I'm pleased with the performance of the entire team.
We have been chasing throughout the entire year, consistently falling behind by one or two games. Although the margin has narrowed, we still need to apply pressure on Man United because we are still in second place and are not in the lead.
"We've had to come up with strategies to win without showy play, but I think our level of confidence right now is quite strong. Right now, we're in the most favorable circumstances of the entire season.
"I already know what I'm doing on Sunday. I'm happy with how well the whole team played; we know precisely how we want to play.
We are in a wonderful groove right now, and I like where the season is at this point. We are undoubtedly confident going into the cup final on Sunday.
"We made wise choices," says Eidevall in reference to hiring matters
Arsenal improved their chances of making the Champions League by moving up to third after defeating Brighton 4-0 thanks to a Stina Blackstenius early double-double.
Jonas Eidevall, the team's manager, was happy with his team's persistent first-half performance despite having to deal with yet another selection issue when Lia Walti fell unwell during the warm-up and substitute Gio Queiroz had to leave the game due to a hamstring injury.
