I was punched and kicked - 68-year-old man tells how faceless people destroyed his house
On May 1, 2023, a family living in an airport residence woke up to a heartbreaking sight when the house that sits on their 1.34 acre lot completely collapsed.
The house, which housed the Eshun family for more than five decades, is now a ruin. With all of their possessions still inside, the ruthless perpetrators gave the family a chance to salvage anything, at least before the building collapsed on top ofeverything.
But Richard Eshun, the son of the owner of the house, the late Isaac Eshun, said that although he and his family have faced several threats over the pastmonth over the property, they have not given up. This, he added, because all the evidence, even at the Ghana Land Commission, clearly shows that his family owns this property, and there is no confusion or controversy about this topic.
Speaking on the SayItLoud program yet to be aired on GhanaWeb TV, the 68-year-old said that the day after the demolition the things were so severe that he was physically assaulted. "On the first night of May, when I was trying to stop the bulldozer that came here, I was punched and kicked, so I was physically attacked... but I didn't see any abuse that goes into all of this." he said. .
Richard Eshun also reported that the police seized his licensed gun, a situation he said made the faceless people tryingto take over his land boldly attack the house. May, 1st. Healso said that it seems other people who are trying to take his property have the support of the police.
"In many cases, the police have taken Anane Daniels first to get him out of the way. I have a licensed gun and told the police. They came here and took my gun. "That same night was the worst fight from these guys, where they ripped through the roof, et cetera. If I had my gun, I don't think they would have come here, well, it not in that kind of attitude. and came," he said.
