Tinubu sent Fasoranti a message on his 97th birthday 


President-elect
 Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the leader of the Pan-Yoruba political party, Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti on his 97th birthday.

In his speech to celebrate Fasoranti, Tinubu praised the former politician for his commitment to the concept of good governance in Nigeria and his unwavering dedication to progressive politics. He also praised the national for his good example of courage and public service as a teacher, school principal, local government chairman, administrator, finance commissioner and an intelligent politician.


Tinubu also recalled the conversation he had with the Afenifere leader when he visited his home in Akure last year, saying he promised himthat he would work day and night to fulfill the promise of greater Nigeria. He said; "I especially thank Baba for his support, guidance and encouragement during the campaign for the presidency of Nigeria. He gave me courageand showed me full support. “When I visited him in Akure after I got my party ticket, I asked him to stay with us for a long time to see a great Nigerian of his generation whoworked hard and fought forBaba and all Nigerians promised me will work day and night.fulfill the promise of thegreater community. "I am firm on this promise, although I am happy that Baba is still with us. I join the children, family, friends, partners and men and women of Afenifere in wishing Baba a wonderful 97th birthday. 


Tinubu also praised theecumenical spirit of Pa Fasoranti as a great man of faith who was gifted with rare grace and courage to endure pain and live in personal tragedy without bitterness or hatred towards God and someone is there. “Onthis special day when our father, Chef Reuben Fasoranti, turns 97, we have nothing but gratitude to God for giving him long life and presence of mind.

“All of us in the camp continue to be inspired by Baba's long years of unwavering devotionto public welfare. We are inspired to follow his examplebecause Baba Fasoranti is a light on our path", added the president-elect.
