According to a new report, Manchester United consulted with a group of advisers including Nemanja Vidic and other club legends about potential transfers last summer.
Erik ten Hag made some big moves in his first transfer window as United manager, bringing in Lisandro Martinez and Antony from former club Ajax.
He then attempted to secure the signing of midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid at the end of the transfer window, driving the club's summer spending to more than £200m.
This means winter budgets are low and the club are limited to loan deals, but there is no doubt that Martinez and Casemiro in particular have had a positive impact on their debut campaign.

And a new report claims former United centre-back Vidic, who played for the club between 2006 and 2014, and other club icons have advised the duo to sign. Man Utd advisers working during the summer transfer window
According to The Athletic, chief executive Richard Arnold has called on Vidic to join a "consultation group" to discuss United's short- and long-term plans.

Arnold is believed to have asked Sir Alex Ferguson and former club director David Gill to complete a review of United's management structure after it was announced that Ed Woodward would be leaving his post.
One of the ideas was the brainstorming group, and along with Ferguson and Gill, club legends Bryan Robson and Denis Irwin also attended the meetings.
The report adds that Casemiro and Martinez were discussed by the team before United released their action, and Ferguson offered his thoughts.
The inclusion of Vidic - and the subsequent signing of Martinez, United's top centre-back - certainly stood out, with the Serb having won 15 trophies during his time at Old Trafford. Advertisement

If Martinez can earn close to that amount during his time at the club, it will certainly be a successful transfer for everyone involved.
