Following reports that the child was working out at Cobham with first-team stars, Frank Lampard summoned Chelsea's Under-14 captain to senior training on Thursday.
According to twitter account @chelseayouth, the Under 14 youngster in question was Charlie Holland, who trained among the likes of Joao Felix, Thiago Silva, Conor Gallagher and Raheem Sterling after a stunning promotion from Lampard before of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Nottingham Forest.
Holland, who led the Blues' Under 14s to victory in the Albert Phelan Cup South earlier this month, first took the team on a brisk jog while appearing to chat briefly with Gallagher, a former member of Chelsea's youth programme.
In footage of Thursday's training session, the teenager was then seen standing alongside £88million star Mykhailo Mudryk and a host of other players as they awaited their next drill.
Lampard is a known champion of youthful talent after bringing through the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori during his first tenure as Chelsea boss.
And the caretaker manager is clearly an admirer of Holland after showing a remarkable degree of faith by calling him up to train with the senior squad.
With virtually nothing left to play for this season while 11th in the Premier League and out of every cup competition, Lampard likely decided there was no better time to give one of the club's youth players a rare taste of first-team training.
Despite the fact that academy standouts are frequently called up for training, this honour is usually given to players who are younger than 21 or younger than 18.
It has been a catastrophic campaign on the whole for Chelsea, despite co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali spending nearly £600million on new signings throughout the summer and January windows.
They have had four different head coaches - with Lampard taking interim command after Bruno Saltor briefly held the fort following the resignation of Graham Potter, who succeeded Thomas Tuchel last September - and failed to integrate an overwhelming number of players amid terrible form on the pitch.
This summer, Mauricio Pochettino is anticipated to succeed Potter as Chelsea's new permanent manager, with Lampard serving as interim management until the completion of the current campaign.
When Lampard earned his first victory as the Blues' interim manager last weekend, he snapped a miserable streak of six straight losses.
His side scored twice in the final eight minutes to win a 3-1 victory at Bournemouth and mathematically avoid Premier League relegation.
