Chelsea name asking price for Aubameyang as Barça interest continues
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become one of Barcelona's attacking priorities for next season because he is a player that could be profitable from an economic point of view. The striker wants to come back but the Catalan club have warned him that any operation must be practically free, although Chelsea are not willing to do so. The 'Mirror' explains that the London club have already made it clear to Aubameyang's camp that he cannot leave on a free transfer because they do not want to compute losses.
Chelsea's disastrous transfer strategy this season, with a multimillion-euro investment that has served no purpose, could take its toll on the new project. The English team has to become more financially stable, but they are already planning another €200 million for potential acquisitions, even if they will first need to let go of players. Sell players who haven't performed well and aren't likely to be significant along the road. Giving them away is not an option; instead, efforts should be taken to maximize the financial return on the initial investments.
There are several situations, but in the case of Aubameyang, the team has already let him know they do not want him and that he should depart for a little transfer fee, possibly around $4 or $5 million. The club signed him for €12 million from Barça and has written down a significant portion of that sum due to the player's hefty pay bill, yet they are still unable to transfer him. He is being offered for sale by Chelsea, and it appears that Inter and Milan are both willing to cover the transfer money.
Aubameyang has already stated his refusal to consider offers, his desire to play for Barça, and his knowledge that time is on his side. Chelsea will ultimately have to allow him to leave because they want to save his huge contract. The striker is also anticipating a financial turnaround for Barça so that he can determine whether or not and how much they can pay for new players. Although there is currently no rush, it will not be simple for him to arrive for free.
