Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is said to be preparing Rodrygo to sit on the bench for next Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City.

Camavinga started again in defense against Man City, with Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao both unavailable, but he was relegated to midfield in the final stages of the game.
Ancelotti wants the France international to be more involved on the pitch at the Etihad Stadium, where he could be seen in a midfield four with Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde.
As a result, Vinicius will pair Karim Benzema in the final third of the pitch, with the Real Madrid head coach planning a counter-attack in Manchester.
Ancelotti wants his side to be more solid in defence, with a tight midfield that would theoretically make it difficult for City to break through the lines.

The Real Madrid coach will also have a decision to make in the middle of the defence, with Militao expected to return after serving a ban in the first leg. Mendy is absent with a calf injury, so David Alaba is likely to switch to left-back, allowing Militao to partner Antonio Rudiger in the middle of the defence.
Rudiger impressed against City's Erling Braut Haaland in the first leg, as the Norway international struggled to make his mark in the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid will have their next match against Getafe in La Liga on Saturday, where Ancelotti can make 11 changes to his starting XI, with Los Blancos 14 points behind leaders Barcelona with five games left.
