Under a new model, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been named as one of the two most valuable players in the world right now.
Research by the CIES Football Observatory has gathered information from more than 1,000 clubs in 74 leagues around the world to estimate the transfer value for each player, based on the form and length of the current contract.
Haaland is valued at £175m (€200m), which puts him at the top of Europe's top five leagues alongside Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. The value is almost four times higher than the £51m (about €60m) that City paid the striker last summer when he activated his release clause at Borussia Dortmund.
The 22-year-old has had an incredible debut campaign at the Etihad, surpassing all expectations with 51 goals in 47 appearances.
