According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are concerned Manchester United's summer transfer plans could be thwarted by a slow takeover process.
The British billionaire looks set to win the race for control of the club, with the Glazers reportedly choosing Ratcliffe as their preferred bidder.
Two of the siblings will remain part of the deal - brothers Joel and Avram - Ratcliffe is looking to complete a full takeover over the next three years.
Although Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani offered a larger cash payout of around £5 billion for a full takeover, Ineos' bid for a 50% stake in the club was set. United's price is at more than £6 billion.
Part of Ratcliffe's bid structure is designed to allow for more initial investment, both in transfers from this summer and in upgrading Old Trafford and the club's training facilities at Carrington. However, The Sun reports that Ratcliffe's plans remain frozen despite being selected as the preferred bidder and he is unlikely to take control before the transfer window opens.
Official confirmation that its bid has beaten the competition from Sheikh Jassim has yet to come and even if it does, it could take more than a month before the takeover is complete.

Attorneys cannot move on to the next step until the Glazers' decision is confirmed by all parties, and then the full due diligence process will take another month - or more.
According to the report, the request to give the Ineos-backed contractor the right to take over the transfer before the deal was completed was denied, meaning it could take until mid or even late June for Ratcliffe and the Council. Only his management can control and evaluate the transfer situation.
United's pre-season will begin in mid-July, giving Ratcliffe and the new owner just a few weeks to try to sort out deals - while catching up with other clubs - and Erik ten Hag has it seems very unlikely to have many signings before the players reappear for training. Meanwhile, Nice boss Didier Digard does not believe United's pursuit of Ratcliffe will affect the French club - also owned by Ineos - and has backed him to oversee the success of both sides.
"For me, Manchester United is something else. I don't think we depend on it. The owner (Ratcliffe) is so invested in Nice that he can buy Manchester's gift," the coach said. the French official said on Thursday.
"I'll be happy for him because we know it's important to him. We know that he will not withdraw from Nice. For us, it won't change anything.
