Man United players could be given a role at the club if Sheikh Jassim's takeover is successful, while Gary Neville and Paul Scholes have spoken of the offer.

The two Manchester United legends seem to be able to see the positives in Sheikh Jassim's takeover of Old Trafford amid news that the Qatari could offer former players a job at the club.

Reports in recent days have claimed that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani will be named as the current owner of the Glazer family's preferred candidate to buy the club, although the reports vary. said last night that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS Group was in command.

It follows reports from ESPN that some of United's biggest icons from the time of Sir Alex Ferguson could get a chance to take on a managerial role at the club if the Qatari takeover is successful.

Former players Gary Neville and Paul Scholes have both spoken publicly about the offer before - suggesting they can see the positives in the Qatari offer.

Speaking in April, Neville indicated there was "no perfect answer" when it came to United's next owner, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe still in the works to buy the club. But he also outlined the benefits that a takeover of Sheikh Jassim would bring.

Speaking on The Overlap, he said:

“The Qataris will come and build a new stadium immediately, they will get rid of all the shareholders, they will never receive any dividends or debt, but obviously people have to live given the fact that they might be a state-owned link, which people don't like either, so there's no perfect answer here.

This follows a view shared by Scholes in March, where he stressed that the only requirement for the new owner is to deliver results on the pitch. I said:

"I don't care who runs the club as long as what's happening on the pitch is correct.

"I'm sure the new owners, whoever they are, will want to fix things up. They will say the right things - of course they will because they want to buy the club - but we just hope everything goes well.

"I don't think the team is bothered by any of this, I don't think it hurts them, but the feeling around the fans is that they want it to be all right."
