Eddie Nketiah names Arsenal's fastest player
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has claimed Gabriel Martinelli is the North London side's fastest player, ahead of Bukayo Saka.
The young England international was introduced in an interview on the official Premier League YouTube channel. He was asked a series of questions about his teammates' FIFA 23 ratings.
When asked to name the fastest Arsenal player in the current squad, Nketiah said first (as quoted by The Boot Room):
"I think it's Saka."
Nketiah was then informed that Martinelli had received the highest FIFA speed rating, to which he replied:
“Martinelli will be there, myself, I will be there. It's about different differences, you know, but I'll say it's Martinelli, I'll say it's Martinelli."
Saka and Martinelli have been in excellent form for the Gunners this season. The England international has scored 13 goals and 11 assists in 35 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season. The Brazilian winger has scored 15 goals in the English Premier League and also has 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Nketiah has delivered some impressive performances for the Gunners this season. The English striker proved his worth during Arsenal's absence of number 9 Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian has been sidelined for four months after sustaining a knee injury during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Nketiah has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 36 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season. The young England international seems to have a bright future ahead of him at the Emirates.
'True class performance' - Gary Neville named Arsenal star 'big difference' against Newcastle
Arsenal had an important 2-0 win over Newcastle United in good form at St. James' Park last Sunday (May 7) thanks to Martin Odegaard's first-half goal and Fabian Schar's own own goal.
Jorginho's performance in the encounter was praised by Manchester United icon Gary Neville, who compared the Brazilian to Paul Scholes. The England international praised the former Chelsea star's performance and told Sky Sports:
"But Arsenal were there. No one is a good passer at Newcastle. They are a great defensive team, but Jorginho is a big difference. I say Paul Scholes is the best I've played with, and there's an example of what he's done on the pitch at Newcastle."
He added:
"What we saw from Jorginho at Newcastle was a class performance, a real class performance. [Thomas] Partey has shown anxiety and suspense in recent games when the team needs it. calm, and I think Jorginho showed what you really need when it's really tough."
The Gunners secured Jorginho's services during the January transfer window from Chelsea for £12m
