Media, journalists and major players all focused on the recent UEFA Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Manchester City. Kun Aguero, the former Man City and Barcelona man, is one of many who don't understand Los Blancos' strategy.
On Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, reigning UEFA Champions League champions Real Madrid faced Premier League powerhouses Manchester City in a thrilling semi-final. However, the two sides could only draw 1-1 during the thrilling match, leaving much to be decided in the second leg at Etihad Stadium.
The first leg showcased the quality audiences have come to expect from two of Europe's greatest players, and much of the hype focused on this match as a 'real' Championship final. The British dominated the first exchanges, but it was Vincius who opened the scoring with a spectacular goal.
But Kevin De Bruyne equalized in the second half with a treacherous shot past Thibaut Courtois. The second and decisive semi-final will take place on Wednesday, May 17.
What does Sergio Aguero say about Real Madrid?
Although the results were positive for his former team, Sky Blues legend Sergio Aguero is not pleased with Real Madrid's attitude. The retired Argentinian told reporters he believes Los Blancos are only interested in the Champions League and value the title more than any other.
"I don't understand Real Madrid in the Champions League. I think that's all they train. Then look at them in La Liga and say, 'Why are they playing like that?' But then, in the Champions League, the Real Madrid players became 'Dragon Ball Z' characters. It was crazy," he told ESPN. Then the 34-year-old, who also had a brief spell with Los Blancos rivals Barcelona before being forced to retire, heaped praise on the home side's lone scorer on Tuesday:
"Vinicius is improving year by year. He has improved a lot when he started scoring. In the beginning, he failed even when facing the goalkeeper."
