Hypocrites - NDC lawyer slamsEC for 'challenging' primaries citing 2020 case

Edudzi Kudzo Tamekloe, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has attacked the Electoral Commission (EC) for their decision to remove and supervise the president and parliament on May 13.

The EC confirmed on Wednesday that it will not participate in the exercise due to a legal challenge from the flag aspirant, Kwabena Duffuor. Edudzi criticized the EC for engaging in double standard while saying how in 2020 the law was circumvented to proceed with the registration of secondary school students ahead of that year's elections.

His opinion in a Facebook post of May 11 began by calling EC "Hypocrites".

Edudzi continued, “During the 2020 electoral registration, my eldest son, David Ametefe, filed a legal action against the Electoral Commission and Jean Mensah as chairman for the order to prevent them from registering shs students. “Even though they were served with a valid cancellation request, they decided to go ahead with the registration.

"Today,
the EC declares that it wants to respect the order of the Court. Maybe they have Damascus time. We are in this country. People cannot hide their true intentions. But can you blame them? God is not to blame,” his letter concluded.
