ST JOHN BOSCOS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM SUITABLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES

St. John Bosco College of Education, a Public College of Education in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the various Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) degree programmes for the 2023/2024 academic year.

? B. Ed. French 

Note: The JHS option provides applicants with the opportunity to specialize in a particular subject area to enable them to teach at the JHS level after graduation.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. WASSCE / SSSCE Applicants:

The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme is as follows:

  WASSCE Holders: CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising: Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

  SSSCE Holders: CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising: Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

Candidates who are yet to write either the 2023 WASSCE or NABPTEX examinations can also apply.

 

2. Technical and Vocational Education and Training Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for the B. Ed. Technical programme should possess Certificate II in any three (3) relevant trade areas (Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Building and Construction, Electronics, Metal Work, Wood Work, Plumbing and Technical Drawing) awarded by Technical Education Unit (TEU), National Vocational and Technical Institute (NVTI), City & Guilds and other authorized awarding bodies in addition to National Board for Professional and Technical Examination (NABPTEX) Certificate II in lieu of passes in English Language and Core Mathematics. Alternatively, candidates who possess NABPTEX certificate II in 3 relevant trade areas (Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Building and Construction, Electronics, Metalwork, Woodwork, Plumbing and Technical Drawing) in addition to a minimum of three (3) credit passes (Grade C6 or better for WASSCE) or a minimum of three (3) passes (Grade D or better for SSSCE) in core subjects including English Language and Core Mathematics. Holders of National Certificate II qualification in Competency Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU on the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Qualification Framework (NTVETQF) may also apply. 

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 

The application process is online. Applicants are required to pay an amount of Two Hundred and Thirty Ghana Cedis only (GH¢ 230.00) into the Colleges of Education -Ghana account at any Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG) branch nationwide. Alternatively, payment can also be made through mobile money wallet by dialing the short code *924*8# via any of the following mobile network platforms: MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, Tigo Cash and Airtel Money.

Once payment is effected, applicants will be supplied with the following information: 

? A Personal Identification Number (PIN)

? An Admission Application Serial Number

? The Admission Website Address - admission.coeportal.edu.gh 

With this PIN, applicants will then visit the Colleges of Education admission website: admission.coeportal.edu.gh and follow specific guidelines to fill the online application form.  Note that applicants are required to select St. John Bosco College of Education and two other Colleges and an accompanying Ghanaian Language (Kasem, Gurene and Dagaare).

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

 

• Applicants are advised to thoroughly read and understand all instructions related to the application process before completing the application form. 

• Applicants are to also note that application forms that are not properly completed will not be processed.

• After completing the online application form, an applicant is required to print a hard copy of the form which should be sent with one passport photograph and copy/copies of his/her results slip(s) (where available) by EMS priority envelope obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and addressed to:

• Applicants will be notified of the receipt of their applications by SMS (text message) and should therefore provide correct and reliable cell phone numbers when completing the form online.
