Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco's minister of youth, has emphasized the efforts made by his nation to put the African Youth Charter into practice.

Speaking at the just concluded African Ministerial Conference, which was held this week in the Kingdom of Morocco, was Mr. Bensaid.

A hundred young leaders, including members of national youth councils, civil society organizations, and African youth platforms, attended the ministerial conference.

Many African Ministers of Youth, including those from Burkina Faso, Botswana, Niger, Namibia, Mali, Somalia, Malawi, Ghana, and Senegal, as well as representatives from Cameroon and Togo, were there.

The purpose of the Charter is to give young people in Africa access to a political and legal framework that will enable the growth of youth initiatives at the continental, regional, and national levels.

According to His Majesty King Mohammed VI's decree, the North African nation seeks to deepen its ties with other African nations in order to support the ascent of the continent's youth.

Mr. Bensaid, whose ministry includes culture and communication as well, stated that they wished to improve and coordinate the youth empowerment initiatives throughout Africa.

According to him, this may be accomplished by encouraging substantial involvement in the social, economic, and political development agenda for the continent.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of his nation to advancing South-South cooperation, stating that King Mohammed VI had placed it at the core of the Kingdom's foreign policy.

In order to represent African youth and offer practical answers, he emphasized the necessity of repositioning the Pan-African Youth Union as a continental decision-making organization.

The African Youth Charter, according to Pan-African Youth Union President Moumouni Dialla, "aims to protect young people against discrimination and guarantees them freedom of movement, speech, association, religion, property, and other human rights while committing to promote their participation in society."

He praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the kind reception he gave to the delegates who were there.

Mr. Dialla praised the sovereign for promoting African youth and emphasized the value of initiatives started with the African kid in mind.

He also emphasized the significance of the Pan African Youth Union as a continental organization that promotes the adoption of sensible public policies for African youth.

The delegation's leaders and the African ministers attending this ministerial summit underlined the need for maintaining this institution and expanding its impact on continental decision-making.

The delegates thanked His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his unwavering dedication as a monarch to improving the lives of African youth.
