Case of Kwabena Duffuor

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a candidate for the NDC's flagbearer position, requested an interlocutory injunction against the party's presidential and parliamentary primaries on Tuesday, May 9.

In his lawsuit, Dr. Duffuor seeks to prevent the NDC and the Electoral Commission from convening the primaries until a comprehensive picture album register is produced.

Additionally, the former finance minister requests that the party send him the whole voter registration at least five weeks before the election.

According to the complaint, only 220 out of the 275 constituencies' data have been validated. He claims that a remarkable list of 74,799 people has been prepared, but there is insufficient information to verify it.

3,910 eligible voters in the 220 constituencies have been disenfranchised for no discernible cause, according to Dr. Duffuor's writ.

He continues by arguing that the photo album released by the NDC electoral directorate with the general secretary of the party's knowledge, assent, and implicit approval will jeopardize the election's credibility.

The motion further stated, "The plaintiff maintains that the unwillingness to extend the time for the internal elections and provide a complete and credible photo album register to the presidential aspirants ahead of time for verification smacks of a plan to create an undue advantage for manipulation of the presidential primaries."
